scarlet macaw

The scarlet macaw is a colorful parrot it originates from central and south america. The scarlet Macaw eats seeds, nuts,flowers,fruits and nectar and also eats clay in which no one knows. The scarlet macaws are a large macaw that are 30 to 35 inches long from the tail to the head. These parrots have bright red plumage with yellow bands on blue wing feathers. They have white featherless ring around there eyes, their upper beak is white and the lower beak is black. These parrots live between 30 to 50 years but others have lived more than 75 years.
The scarlet parrots are nippy and tend to bit if they are not trained at a early stage of life. These birds tend to do alot of tricks and are a loving bird but don't talk and learn words like other parrots. These birds need to be maintenance, socialized, out of the cage or interaction with others. They need to do these so they don't pick up bad habits.The scarlet macaws are very loud and tend to destroy anything or chew if you don't watch it. The scarlet macaw needs a cage between 3x4 feet to 5 feet tall, it needs room to play and move around.
